- Position growth in 4 months by 58%
- Traffic growth in 4 months per day from 8 to 87
The client asked for a blog development on store.vitomax.ua. We conducted a small analysis of the project – the site had low traffic, empty link mass and unoptimised content on commercial pages.
As a bottom line, we realised that:
- We could start writing a blog, but since the site is low-ranking, Google wouldn’t give it positions for information queries, and the site wouldn’t get traffic.
- Blog articles don’t convert as effectively, and we don’t have unoptimised commercial pages to promote.
As a result, we decided that it was pointless to promote only the blog, and to get results and increase performance – to engage in full optimisation and promotion of the pet shop.
Results of pet shop promotion
Work with the project started in October, and since mid-October, new metadata has been placed on the site, and pages have been sent for re-indexing.
As a result of the beginning of the promotion of the pet shop, you can notice the growth of traffic on the site:
(Data is shown for half a year; the screenshot shows the beginning of work with the project.)
Positions on the site:
Part of the positions are from October to January:
After a year and a half, the site was already getting hundreds of visits a day, with over 800 visits on peak days for commercial queries:
Technical optimisation works
There were some technical issues on the site (e.g., 3xx and 4xx errors, an incorrect Sitemap.xml file, duplicate pages, etc.). We prepared files for the developer with errors and technical issues, and added improvements to improve site performance. The improvements included adding tables with prices and blocks (for example, block Q&A, block popular categories).
At the moment, the technical part is a work in progress.
The site is built on an atypical, complex engine, for which few developers understand how to work with it.
After checking the technical work estimates from the client’s main contractors, we recommended changing them due to the unreasonably inflated price.
At this point, we have hired a developer at a fraction of the cost of past developers who have already started performing the audit.
Further growth in project performance is expected once the technical refinements are completed.
Content optimisation works for a pet shop
A major stage in promoting a pet shop is developing content. First, keywords are collected and approved, and the site’s structure is drawn up.
For most key queries, the site was not shown or had low positions:
First of all, new metadata was generated for the site, and pages were sent for re-indexing.
The site had no texts, so we started analysing competitors and writing and placing texts for two language versions of the site.
Intermediate results of position growth when promoting a pet shop:
Preparing quality content for pet products
The veterinary niche is a medical niche, so promoting pet shops requires special attention when preparing information content on the site. We want to ensure a high standard of quality, so we approached this process with special care.
We work with experienced and qualified copywriters who understand the veterinary niche to ensure our content is meaningful and credible.
After the texts are written, each one undergoes a mandatory customer review to ensure the user receives only reliable information. We strive to provide users with expert materials to help them better care for their pets’ health.
Getting started with link optimisation for your pet shop
Since the link mass was empty, link optimisation was started from the second month of promotion.
To promote the pet shop, primarily thematic-quality sites were selected, and the link profile was diluted with crowd links to increase the search engine’s confidence and diversity.
Further promotion of the pet shop
Adding content to the site and implementing technical improvements are in progress. After optimising the main categories, the product cards will be analysed and fine-tuned. The blog will also be further developed.
We plan to migrate the site to another domain and continue its development.
